Selection Policy

(6 men and 6 women slots) (tentative number)

Objectives:

The primary objective of this policy is to establish selection criteria, ensuring fairness, consistency, and transparency in TriHK's process for selecting capable and eligible athletes to represent Hong Kong, China, and compete for podium positions in the individual and Mixed Team relay at the aforementioned event.

Details & Criteria:

1. Athletes must be 18 years old by 31 December 2026 to qualify and are current TriHK National Squad Members.
2. Athletes must have sufficient results to be put on the start list for all events.
3. Athletes with any current (2026) disciplinary issues are not eligible for selection.
4. a) Olympic Pathway Considerations (4 slots):

           4.1 Asian Games Medalist (2026 Aichi-Nagoya)

           4.2 National Games 2025 Medalist

           4.3 Asian Championship Individual Medalist (2025 – 2026)

           4.4 World Ranking Top 150

           4.5 Team Members in Asian Games and National Games

           4.6 Benchmarking Results (Swim and Run) in April 2026

           4.7 Athletes with the best combination in overseas competitions in the period of March - October 2026

      b) Race Selection Slots (2 slots):

          The first 2 eligible athletes to cross the finish line at the World Cup Hong Kong National Squad Elite Category

Reserve Slots:

• Any eligible athlete not selected via the above selection methods would be substituted if the selected athlete is unable to take part due to injury/physical/mental conditions.

TriHK reserves the right, when and where necessary, to adjust the above policies and has the final discretion.
