Special Notice

On the 3 November 2014 the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Triathlon Association (TriHK) considered apparent infringements of the Rules and Regulations of the Hong Kong Triathlon race that took place on the 26 October 2014.

On the evidence before it, the Committee decided that disciplinary proceedings should be commenced in accordance with Clause 12 of the Articles of Association.  Under this clause an individual is given notice that there appears to be reason why action should be taken to suspend or terminate their membership of TriHK.  They are then given the right to make written submissions to the Committee to state their case and to attend in person at a Committee meeting to explain their point of view.  Following that, the Committee will make a decision to impose a sanction or not.  If a sanction is to be imposed, the Committee will decide what the sanction would be.

Based on the evidence before the Committee, three athletes and one coach have been informed in writing of the evidence that is available, and of the possible violations that they have made.

The issues have been raised in writing with the persons involved and their responses will be considered by the Committee in accordance with the provisions of Clause 12 as soon as possible.

TriHK is committed to ensuring that all conduct is  in accordance with its rules and regulations, and expects the highest levels of sportsmanship from athletes and coaches.

We look forward to welcoming all members of the Hong Kong Triathlon Association to the Annual General Meeting this Saturday, 8 November 2014 at the Jockey Club Lecture Theatre, 2/F., Olympic House, 1 Stadium Path, So Kon Po, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong at 6:30 pm.

To avoid any delays, we would ask that all members bring your HK ID card (or, if you do not have a HK ID Card, your passport), and arrive in sufficient time before the meeting to allow your identity to be confirmed.

Given the difficulties experienced by some athletes in attending the time trials held on 26 to 28 September 2014, a further time trial will be held on Saturday 29 November 2014 for the swim, and Wednesday 3 December 2014 for the run. A bike time trial for relevant athletes will be held on 6 December 2014.

All athletes who have not already passed the time trial held on 26 to 28 September 2014 and who wish to be considered for inclusion in the National Squad / National Development Squad / Regional Squad for 2015 are strongly encouraged to attend.  The standards required to pass the time trials are set out here
