Senior Sports Executive (SSE)

 

Salary: HK$36,241 per month

Hong Kong Triathlon Association is a recognized National Sports Association under Leisure and Cultural Services Department’s subvention.  SSE is designated as the in-charge of the Secretariat which is composed of Sports Executive and Administrative Assistant.

 

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Make recommendations on development and operation policies and procedures to Executive Committee (ExCom);
  • Propose on marketing and promotion strategies of the triathlon sports and seek commercial sponsorship;
  • Manage all activities of the Hong Kong Triathlon Association (TriHK) office including recruitment, supervision, management and development of staff;
  • Prepare and monitor on annual budgets and reports on financial status;
  • Attend meetings of ExCom and provide all administrative support;
  • Implement an efficient filing system for Secretariat;
  • Liaise with the government departments and other organization;
  • Ensure timely reporting and conscientious compliance with the terms of the Government’s Subvention Agreement;
  • Oversee the administration of local and international programmes;
  • Oversee the maintenance of the register of members and ensure compliance with the Data Privacy Ordinance.

 

Minimum qualifications and experience required:

  • A Diploma from a registered post-secondary college issued after the date of its registration/an accredited Associate Degree from a Hong Kong tertiary institution/a Higher Diploma from a polytechnic university or polytechnic in Hong Kong or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience, preferably in sports-related field, at least 2 years in managerial role.

 

Skills required:

  • Experienced in budgeting, cost control and resources allocation;
  • Good organizational, planning, decision-making and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese language skills;
  • Good PC skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Chinese word processing, PowerPoint, Outlook etc);
  • Knowledge of the National Sports Association operation preferred;
  • Available and flexible to work during non-office hours and on weekends and public holidays;
  • Immediate availability is a definite advantage.

·         Report to the Senior Sports Executive and Sub-Committees;

·         Promote the triathlon sports and activities;

·         Organize the development programmes and events;

·         Attend Sub-Committee meeting and provide all administrative support;

·         liaise with the ITU, ASTC and other national triathlon associations regarding race fixtures;

·         assist Race Directors as required with the organisation of local events;

·         ensure that evaluation and financial reports are prepared and submitted as required to the Executive Committee for all local races held;

·         Seek commercial sponsorship to support the triathlon sports;

·         Ensure timely reporting and conscientious compliance with terms of the LCSD Handbook and Subvention Agreement;

·         Other assignments as may be required from time to time. 

 

Minimum qualifications and experience required:

Resignation of Secretary

Please be informed that Mr. LEUNG Mun Hung William submitted his resignation from the position of Secretary of Hong Kong Triathlon Association on 30 April 2018. The Executive Committee will follow the provisions in the Articles to replace the vacant position as soon as possible.

It is the harvest day for Hong Kong Triathlon Junior Elite Team at the 2018 Hong Kong ASTC Triathlon Junior Asian Championships held at Plover Cove, Tai Po today. The Male Junior Elite team dominated the race to bag all three medals and the Team Champion while three Female Junior Elite team members ran top-ten finishes to take the Runner-up in the Team Championship.

The Hong Kong trio took the lead in the final stage. Oscar Coggins was the ultimate winner and defended his title. Mark Yu grabbed his silver medal while Jason Ng won the bronze.

Japan took the top three positions in the Female Elite race. Bailee Brown managed to finish in the fourth place while Cherie Cho Wing-to and Lo Ho-yan completed in 8th and 9th respectively.

For the Team Championship, Hong Kong lifted the trophy for the all-podium finishes in the Male Elite race. Japan came second and Korea was third. Japan won the Female Team Championship while Hong Kong was the Runner-up with three top-10 finishes and Chinese Taipei was third.

Hong Kong Triathlon Association is a recognized National Sports Association under Leisure and Cultural Services Department’s subvention. AA report to the Senior Sports Executive who is designated as the Secretariat in-charge.

 

Duties & responsibilities:

n  Report to the Senior Sports Executive and Sub-Committee Members;

n  Undertake any administrative and clerical duties in the office and answer enquiries;

n  Coordinate on the local programmes of the Hong Kong Triathlon Association (TriHK);

n  Undertake outdoor filed work relating to job duties assigned;

n  Assist implementation an efficient filing system for Secretariat;

 

Minimum qualifications and experience required:

n  Grade E / Level 2 or above in 5 subjects including English (Syllabus B), Chinese and Mathematics in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination; or Level 2 or above in five subjects including English, Chinese and Mathematics in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, or equivalent

n  Remarks: Grade C in English Language (Syllabus A) is recognised as equivalent to Grade E in English Language (Syllabus B)

The 2017 Jockey Club Hong Kong Coaching Awards presentation ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) today, unveiling a list of 175 awardees. The organiser, the Hong Kong Coaching Committee (HKCC), aims to recognise the dedication of coaches in nurturing Hong Kong athletes to pursue outstanding sporting results at both regional and international sporting arena, and their contribution in developing sports across the community and school levels in the past year.

In Triathlon, TriHK celebrates two nominated coaches who are awarded in the ceremony. Coach Wan Shu Wah achieved the Coaching Excellence Awards and Coach Lam Chung Kei achieved the Community Coach Recognition Awards in the 2017 Jockey Club Hong Kong Coaching Awards presentation ceremony.

TriHK congratulates Coach Wan Shu Wah and Lam Chung Kei for the awards and their contribution to the sport of triathlon.
