We are please to announce that Fenella Ng and Richard Hall were appointed to be Vice President and Secretary of Hong Kong Triathlon Association respectively.

Fenella Ng (Ng Gar Loc) hails from an elite swimming and rowing background.  She represented HK National Teams for over 20 years, participating 3 Olympics and 5 Asian Games as well as multiple World Championships.  Fenella is an Asian Games and Asian Championship medallist in both sports, with a best world ranking of 6th in rowing.  Her roots in multi-sports started in the early 1980s, when she was crowned overall champion at first two HK Int'l Biathlon (Aquathon) Championships  . In the 1990's Fenella went on to coach swimming to the HK national triathlon team based at the HKSI.  She currently holds an ITU Level 2 coaching certificate and can be found coaching the  Tritons Triathlon Club team. Fenella hold degrees in Engineering and Masters in Finance, she also currently serves on the committee of the Olympic Academy of the HKSF&OC.

Richard has been involved in running and multisport since he came to Hong Kong in early 1997.  A corporate lawyer by profession, he is actively involved in all types and distances of events, from local run, swim and multipsort events up to Ironman.  He is married to Elaine, herself an accomplished runner, and is father to two daughters, Charlie (11) and Sophie (9), who also participate in various local multipsort events (when they're not in the ballet studio).  Based in Clearwater Bay, he rides with the RMRH and races for the Hong Kong Football Club.

Elite & pre-Elite Squad Time Trials 10/2014

Squad Time Trials will be held on 26, 27, 28 September and 4 October 2014 as per the schedule below, as advised by the Head Triathlon Coach. No other Time Trials are planned until 2015. It is the athlete’s responsibility to attend. Please refer to separate documents for the selection of individual Squads. For enquiries, please call TriHK on 2504 8282 during office hours.

All members of existing Squads are required to attend and pass the Time Trials should they wish to continue training as a Squad member. All existing National Squad members will be automatically entered to the Time Trial. Athletes to the Incheon 2014 Asian Games will be exempted.

Other athletes, including existing National Development and Regional Squad members are required to fill-in the enrollment form should they wish to take part in the Time Trials, and send it back to TriHK, by whatever means, to arrive no later than 23 September (Tues).

Drafting in the 9K bike TT is NOT allowed. Anyone found drafting in the bike TT, will forfeit their bike result on the day. Only equipment and apparel that is legal for Olympic Distance ITU events will be allowed in all trials. In the event of mechanical problem or accident during the bike trail, the athlete may stop and return to the start to retake the trial. The 9K bike trial is mandatory for those targeting the National Squad only. All Time Trials will be organized by the Head Coach and his team. The results will be collated by the TriHK office and posted on the TriHK web site on the following Monday.

Inclement Weather Arrangement:

If either the Typhoon Signal 3 or higher or Red Rainstorm Warning or higher is hoisted 2 hours prior to the scheduled start of the time trial, it will be automatically postponed to another day, to be announced in due course. The Head Coach or his delegate reserves the right to delay the start of a time trial or postpone it to another day in other adverse weather conditions.

1. Bike skill screening is limited to the athletes who qualified the swim and run times. Participants have to bring their own bike and hamlet for the test. The detail of the bike skill test will be sent to participant by email soon.

2. Swim time trials will be conducted in a short course pool.

3. Athletes will be tested against the times for their age as of 31 December 2015. Some discretion may be granted for athletes moving from on age category to another.

4. Achievement of the above National Development Squad and Regional Squad qualifying times will allow an athlete enter into a pool of athletes to be considered for selection to the National Development Squad and Regional Squad. Development Sub-committee will review athletes’ training attitude and attendance should there be any reference, and reserves the right not to invite athletes who pass the qualifying times.

Reporting to the President or the Chairman of Promotion & Publicity, you are responsible for the following duties:

-     Be the Webmaster for all TriHK websites and online publications.

-     Be the Editor of the TriHK e-Newsletter, “Tri-Talk”.

-     Be the coordinator of all TriHK social media

-     Be the executor on the TriHK’s marketing activities

-     Be the producer of TriHK multi-media materials

-     Assist in the organization of events

-         Grade E / Level 2 or above in 5 subjects including English, Chinese and Mathematics in HKCEE (Syllabus B in English) or

-         Level 2 or above in in 5 subjects including English, Chinese and Mathematics in DSE

-         Post secondary graduate in related subjects will be a definite advantage

-      Comprehensive knowledge and skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint presentations and web designing / web development software is essential.

-       Previous editorial job in sales and marketing publications is an advantage.

-       Previous experience in event organization is an advantage

-       Available and flexible to work during weekends and public holidays.

-       Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese language skills.

Special Notice

Subsequent to the newspaper's report last Friday, this is to clarify that TriHK does not have any record of

The Hong Kong Triathlon Association Limited (TriHK) is looking for more new venue for members and to promote the sport of Triathlon in Hong Kong. We would like to invite to TriHK members to submit a Proposal for the potential venue to organize Triathlon and Duathlon event in Hong Kong.



Whilst TriHK aims at identifying more new local race courses, the Events Sub-committee would also like to hear from our members of their preference, and proposals, if any.


This RFP aims at inviting members to send forth their proposals to TriHK, so that we could have better idea on members’ expectations.



-          Must be TriHK member

-          Existing venue will not be consider

-          Potential venue may able to organize the Triathlon and Duathlon race

-          Targets: Kids and adult either

-          About the proposal submitted must comprise information including but not limited to the below listed:

  1. Details course map and location
  2. Type of event (e.g Triathlon or Duathlon)
  3. Listed of potential race distance and target

-  Each member can submit more than one proposal (same location can only be submit one)



Should a member’s proposal be accepted by TriHK and an event is successfully held at the proposed venue, the member will be entitled cash HK$3000. If more than one member proposal be accepted, the prize money will be equal to share.

Members can submit their proposals at any time during the year. Basic information of the attached form is required, with the support of site photos, course maps and route maps.
