Given the difficulties experienced by some athletes in attending the time trials held on 26 to 28 September 2014, a further time trial will be held on Saturday 29 November 2014 for the swim, and Wednesday 3 December 2014 for the run. A bike time trial for relevant athletes will be held on 6 December 2014.

All athletes who have not already passed the time trial held on 26 to 28 September 2014 and who wish to be considered for inclusion in the National Squad / National Development Squad / Regional Squad for 2015 are strongly encouraged to attend.  The standards required to pass the time trials are set out here

2014 Taipei ITU Level 1 Coaches Seminar

-Entry Requirements:

The following prerequisites will be considered when selecting the candidates to attend this course:

I. Candidates are from National Squad or were retired from National Squad.

II. The level of triathlon coaches certificate of candidates.

III. The participation in TriHK, including coaching in TriHK’s training courses or officiating in TriHK’s races or events.

-Course Fee:

The course will be free of charge. Candidates have to self-fund on his spending including flight tickets, accommodations and meals etc. No subvention is provided.

We are please to announce that Fenella Ng and Richard Hall were appointed to be Vice President and Secretary of Hong Kong Triathlon Association respectively.

Fenella Ng (Ng Gar Loc) hails from an elite swimming and rowing background.  She represented HK National Teams for over 20 years, participating 3 Olympics and 5 Asian Games as well as multiple World Championships.  Fenella is an Asian Games and Asian Championship medallist in both sports, with a best world ranking of 6th in rowing.  Her roots in multi-sports started in the early 1980s, when she was crowned overall champion at first two HK Int'l Biathlon (Aquathon) Championships  . In the 1990's Fenella went on to coach swimming to the HK national triathlon team based at the HKSI.  She currently holds an ITU Level 2 coaching certificate and can be found coaching the  Tritons Triathlon Club team. Fenella hold degrees in Engineering and Masters in Finance, she also currently serves on the committee of the Olympic Academy of the HKSF&OC.

Richard has been involved in running and multisport since he came to Hong Kong in early 1997.  A corporate lawyer by profession, he is actively involved in all types and distances of events, from local run, swim and multipsort events up to Ironman.  He is married to Elaine, herself an accomplished runner, and is father to two daughters, Charlie (11) and Sophie (9), who also participate in various local multipsort events (when they're not in the ballet studio).  Based in Clearwater Bay, he rides with the RMRH and races for the Hong Kong Football Club.
